Burnbrae Farms Support for Frontline Hospital Workers
GeneralIn the year 2020 we have seen our world turn upside down. It has been 100 years since the last major pandemic, the Spanish Flu. The COVID-19 pandemic is certainly also making its mark, impacting the world in many ways and despite the noteworthy measures of our government here in Canada, our frontline healthcare workers are tasked to the limits in many instances.
Burnbrae Farms is a 6 th generation family business that has been farming in Canada for over 125 years and has always supported the communities in which we do business. Burnbrae Farms and the Hudson Family have felt the need to do more in support of those brave souls who are the frontline healthcare workers during COVID-19.
In support of pandemic relief efforts, the Burnbrae Farms Foundation has made a total donation of $55,000 to assist eleven different hospitals across the country. We want to support the efforts of hospitals in the communities in which we do business such as Upton (Quebec), Brockville (Ontario), Winnipeg (Manitoba) and others. We also donated to Toronto and Ottawa hospitals as they are high population centres with increased need. We hope that these donations will aid in the acquisition of personal protective equipment or other essentials for healthcare during this extraordinary time.
As an essential service, we at Burnbrae Farms understand the complexities of maintaining operations during this pandemic. We have had to implement new procedures and purchase more personal protective equipment to ensure the safety of our colleagues as they continue to provide safe and nutritious eggs for Canadians. The Hudson Family and the Burnbrae Farms team express our sincere gratitude to our healthcare workers for their continued service. We all need to do our part by social distancing and wearing masks to continue to flatten the curve and make their work a bit easier!
