Ingredients

2 cup / 500 ml frozen strawberries
1 very ripe banana, cut into chunks
1 cup / 250 ml coconut water
1 cup / 250 ml crushed ice
1/2 cup / 125 g Naturegg Simply Egg Whites, well shaken
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Place the strawberries, banana, coconut water, ice, egg whites and vanilla in a blender.

  2. Blend, stopping to stir as needed, for 2 minutes or until smooth and well combined. Serve immediately.

Tips

  1. Add additional nutritional value by adding other healthful ingredients such as flax oil, flax seed or chia seed to taste.

  2. Sweeten with honey to taste.

  3. Substitute juice, almond milk or regular milk for the coconut water.

  4. For coconut flavour, replace the vanilla with coconut extract.

  5. Add 1 scoop (30 g) vanilla whey protein powder to increase the protein content of the smoothie to 21 g per 2 cup (500 mL) serving
