Cuban Breakfast Griller

Our flavourful EGG Bakes 4 Cheese & Ham makes a speedy and satisfying replacement for the traditional layers of roast pork and ham in this Cuban-inspired breakfast sandwich.

Ingredients

1 quiche / 85 g EGG Bakes! 4 Cheese & Ham
2 tsp / 10 ml softened butter
2 slice Texas Toast or thick sliced brioche bread
1 tsp / 5 ml yellow mustard
1 slice Swiss cheese
2 dill pickle sandwich slices

Directions

  1. Cook EGG Bakes! quiche according to package directions.

  2. Lightly butter Texas toast and lay buttered-side-down on a work surface. Spread one slice with mustard; top with dill pickles, the hot quiche and cheese. Add the second slice of bread, buttered-side-out.

  3. Toast the sandwich in a nonstick skillet over medium heat until golden on each side and cheese is melted.

Tips

  1. Meat lovers can still add a few slices of deli ham and/or roast pork to the sandwich before toasting.

  2. Alternately, sandwich can be toasted in a panini press if preferred.
