Ham and Swiss Frittata in a Jar

A fun and easy breakfast recipe that's as cute as it is yummy.

Ingredients

1 cup / 150 g chopped deli Black Forest ham
5 processed swiss cheese slices, chopped
2 cup / 500 g Egg Creations Fat Free Garden Vegetable, well shaken

Directions

  1. HEAT oven to 375ºF.

  2. PLACE ham in 8 (125-mL) ovenproof jars sprayed with cooking spray; top with chopped cheese slices.

  3. SHAKE egg carton well. (Or, lightly whisk eggs in bowl.) Pour into jars, adding about 1/4 cup to each jar. Place in shallow parchment-lined pan.

  4. BAKE 25 to 30 min. or until centres of frittatas are set and tops are golden brown.

Tips

  1. Serve with whole grain toast and fresh fruit.

  2. Sprinkle evenly with 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh chives before serving.

Tips: Hard Boiled

To hard cook, place cold eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) of cold water over the top of the eggs. Cover saucepan and bring quickly to the boil over high heat. Immediately remove pan from heat to stop boiling. Let eggs stand in water for 18 to 23 minutes. Drain water and immediately run cold water over eggs until cooled. This helps to prevent a dark or greenish ring from forming around the yolk. Remove egg from shell.
