Ingredients

1 pastry shell (9” / 23 cm) , frozen and thawed or home made
1-2 green onions, chopped
1 cup / 250 ml diced ham
1 cup / 250 ml shredded Swiss or Cheddar cheese
1 1/4 cup / 350 g Egg Creations Fat Free Original, well shaken
1 cup / 250 ml half and half (10%) cream
1 tbsp / 15 ml Dijon mustard
salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Partially bake pastry on lower oven rack for 8 minutes. Prick with fork if pastry puffs during baking.

  3. Sprinkle green onions, ham and cheese in pastry shell.

  4. Beat Egg Creations, cream, mustard, salt and pepper in mixing bowl to blend. Pour over filling.

  5. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until filling is set and pastry is golden. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.

Tips

  1. Use Cheese and Chive Egg Creations™. Replace green onion with ½ cup (125 mL) diced sweet red pepper.

  2. Use Garden Vegetable Egg Creations™. Omit green onion and replace ham with smoked chicken or turkey.

  3. Replace ham with 8 slices, diced, cooked bacon or cooked salad shrimp.

  4. Lighten up with light (5%) cream in place of 10%.
