Cloudy with a Chance of Chocolate
An icy blender drink with a protein and caffeine kick, topped with frothy meringue cloud.

Ingredients
222 g | Naturegg Simply Egg Whites, well shaken |
1/2 tsp / 2.5 ml | Instant coffee or espresso powder |
1 tbsp / 15 ml | Unsweetened cocoa powder |
pinch | salt |
3 tbsp / 45 ml | icing sugar, divided |
6 | large ice cubes |
Directions
Blend 148g of the egg whites, 2 tbsp. of sugar, salt, coffee, cocoa, and ice cubes in a blender until it has the consistency of slush ice.
In a separate or cleaned blender, blend the remaining 74g egg whites and 1 tbsp of icing sugar for 3-4 minutes until they are opaque and fluffy, but not too stiff. Note: If you do not have a high powered, variable speed blender, egg whites can be whisked by hand or
Pour the slush ice blend into a high ball glass and top off with the whipped egg whites.
Sprinkle a little cocoa powder on top, and serve immediately
Tips
Can easily adjust ingredients for other flavour variations:
Chunky Monkey: add 1 frozen small banana to blend with ice in Step 1.
Mayan Chocolate: add a pinch of cayenne pepper, zest of ½ orange and 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract to Step 1.
Chocolate Strawberry: add ½ cup (80g) frozen strawberries to blend with ice in Step 1.
Irish Cloud: add 1 oz/2 Tbsp/30ml Kahlua or alternate Coffee-flavoured Liqueur and 2 Tbsp/30ml Irish Whiskey to Step 1.
